Services
Sweeping, relining, inspections, and repair
Creosote builds up every time you burn, and water works on the masonry every time it rains. The national fire code calls for an inspection once a year.

Chimney sweeping
Creosote is what catches fire in a chimney. We brush it out of the flue before it builds up, and tell you what we see at the cap and crown.
- Fireplaces, wood stoves, and furnace flues
- Room covered while we work
- Cleaned up before we leave
Chimney relining
A cracked, unlined, or wrong-size flue can leak smoke and carbon monoxide into the house. A stainless steel liner seals it up.
- Stainless steel liners
- Cracked and unlined flues
- Wood stove installs

Chimney inspections
Phil checks the chimney against NFPA 211, the national chimney safety standard, and tells you plainly what's safe and what needs work.
- Yearly safety inspections
- Level 2 with a camera through the flue
- Home sales and new stoves or furnaces

Chimney repair
Water is what wrecks a chimney. We fix the places it gets in, from the crown down to the roofline.
- Crowns and caps
- Brick and mortar
- Flashing and the roof around the chimney
Buying or selling
Selling a house? Get the chimney off your list.
Buyers and home inspectors often ask for a level 2 chimney inspection. Phil runs a camera through the whole flue and tells you exactly where it stands. [Phil can work around your closing date.]

FAQ
Common questions
Short answers to what people ask us most. Anything else, ask when you call.
How often should I get my chimney swept?
The national fire code (NFPA 211) calls for a chimney inspection once a year. Most fireplaces and wood stoves need a sweep about once a year too, sooner if you burn a lot or burn wet wood.
How long does a sweep take?
[Most sweeps take one to two hours.] We give you a time when we schedule.
Will it make a mess?
No. We protect the area around the fireplace while we work and clean up before we leave.
What is a level 2 inspection?
It covers everything in a basic inspection, plus a camera run through the whole flue and a look at the chimney from the attic and basement where we can reach it. NFPA 211 calls for one when a house is sold, when you change your stove or furnace, or after a chimney fire.
Do you sweep wood stoves and furnace flues?
Yes. We sweep fireplaces, wood stoves, and furnace flues, and we install stainless liners and wood stoves.
What does it cost?
Every chimney is different. Call and we'll give you a quote.
